I'm also having a hard time deciding whether I want to loc my hair or keep it loose. I keep my hair twisted for the most part and I just like the look and the less time and work it takes to do my hair.
As much as I love your hair, I say go for the loc journey. The beautiful thing about natural hair is its versatility. You can always go back to being a loose natural (I've seen individuals comb out their 12 yr old locs). Go for what your heart wants!
Loc it girl, loc it. They are so beautiful, and like someone else comments, you can always change it and start again. This is the fun part of our hair. You can begin again!!!!
I actually started my natural journey with locs. I had them for 5 years. I BC'd again, and now I wear it loose. I think we should explore all of our options and see what works for us.

ReplyDeleteI agree that wanting long natural hair and actually having it are two different things. It's not always the fairytale we imagine lol
ReplyDeleteIf you do decide to dread, however, there's a great dread community on YouTube to help you on your way.
