Hi-Lites in My Sisterlocks

A few weeks ago, I had this sudden urge for something different with my hair, but I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do. After a lot of thought and research I decided to Hi-Lite my Sisterlocks! Big deal, right?!

The days leading up to my Hair Appointment (of course I went to a Salon), I was really anxious, even having nightmares about my hair. LOL! But seriously, one night I dreamt that I put conditioner in my hair and all my Sisterlocks unraveled...very traumatic, but they were all still there in the morning! So when the day finally came, I was nervous but excited for the change as well!

You know I couldn't just get my hair lifted to that blonde color, I went Purple!

The reason I lifted my hair color to blonde was so that the Purple color would be more vibrant and noticeable since my hair is naturally dark. My hair was lifted with Permanent color, so I will have to grow the blonde out (or dye it dark), but the purple hair color is a rinse, so it will wash-out over time. The rinse I used is Adore's "Purple Gem" and "Purple Rage".

I loved the end result! Even when my hair is wet you can notice the purple hi-lites!

And when my hair dried from my Flexi-Rod set, the purple is really vibrant just like I wanted it, especially in the Sun!

    1. Thank you! :) I used a Volume Developer to lift my natural hair color, then I applied the purple semi-permanent color over top of it.

    2. Did you use bleach powder with the volume developer? or just the developer?
