As I mentioned in my Starting Over video [HERE], I have a lot of repairs to do on my Sisterlocks. I was very anxious to start the process to see how much length I would be able to retain. So yesterday, I brought a small pair of sheers and started what I'm calling "Phase 1". In this first phase I'm removing the bunched, scraggly, and weak ends of my Sisterlocks.
These ends need to be removed because they actually cause the locs to be fragile and they also affect the size of my Sisterlocks. After I cut these ends of it was like finding a whole new set of Sisterlocks that are slender and more closely resemble mature Sisterlocks.
I lost a lot of length with this Phase 1 cutting but my Sisterlocks look and feel a lot better! Personally, I'd rather have short strong hair than long fragile hair.
Overall, I love the new cut and really like how my locs look without all the lumps, bunched hairs, and excess ends. It's just hair, it'll grow back...
