Ouch! Too Much Styling With My Sisterlocks

I have been styling my hair daily as part of the 29 Styles Challenge [HERE] and after 7 days, its really taking a toll on my hair. As much as I've been enjoying coming up with different styles these past few days, I feel like my hair hates me for it!

Right now, my scalp is really tender and pretty much for the past few days, in the middle of the day, the bobby pins or loc tie that I used to create my hairstyle start to cause me major pain; to the points its almost unbearable and I have to take down the style. In addition to the tender scalp, I am experiencing a lot of slippage and hairs creeping out of my Sisterlocks. Check out my Sisterlocks Vlog update [HERE] or below to see exactly what I'm talking about...

  1. I feel so badly that you have had so much slippage from the challenge. I think your decision to ease up on styles that pull your Sisterlocks is a good move. Does your scalp hurt all of the time, or just while the styles are in?

I'm curious because in the past, I had similar issues. I officially don't have to braid and band anymore, and most of my locs are fully locked. As long as I keep my twists, braids, buns, etc. on the looser side, I don't have any pain. Also, I noticed that if I try to put too much hair in my bobby pins, my scalp will be tender in that spot. I'm wondering where I can find larger pins. Have you found any?

I'm glad that you plan on continuing in the challenge. I was so nervous by this post that you were going to quit! It's been fun to see your styles every day!
