In the Stylist's Chair: CURLS Curl Control Paste

Since I will be starting my locs in a few days, I still want to share loose natural hair products with you so I'm launching a new series called "In the Stylist's Chair". In this new series, I will feature styles I create and/or products that I have discovered and I'll share the results of their styling capabilities.

Marley Twists on Amma's Natural Hair

Today, I had the opportunity to install Marley Twists on a fellow Naturalista in the DMV area, Amma. She has a beautiful head of thick tightly-coiled hair and it was perfect for trying the CURLS Control Paste.

Amma's Loose Natural Hair

Since her hair was more textured than than the Marley Hair, I decided to use the Curls Control Paste in the hopes that it would blend the two types of hair.

From the product description of the Curl Control Paste it states that it is used to:
"Smooth out and slick down unruly edges, tame frizzy, out of control curls, and add amazing sheen all in one step! Formulated with pure goodness, pure passion fruit oil, shea butter, mango seed butter, Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste is the go to product for curlies demanding perfectly coiffed curls."
Sounds like the perfect solution, right?

As you can see, you can barely tell where her natural hair length ends and only the Marley Hair begins. The consistency of the Curl Control Paste is similar to jam or glaze, so I only used a little bit. I ran a small portion through the length of her hair and used a little more on her ends right before I twisted them. The results were beautiful....

I will definitely use the CURLS curl control paste again on my clients that need to seamlessly blend two textures!

Have you tried the Curl Control Paste? What were your results?

  1. Aww thanks again Jocelyn! I love my hair so much! I've been rocking it in a cute bun and I have gotten so many compliments. Some people have even asked me if it was all my hair. You definitely did a great job of blending the two textures. Thank you for not man handling me and being very gentle with my hair. I felt so bad because I thought I should've & could've blow dried it more to make it less kinky. But you were a pro in navigating my kinks & tangles! Thank you so much again, I really do appreciate it :-)
