Last weekend, I attended the Koils By Nature's "Natural is Not a Fad" event with Alex of TheGoodHairBlog and our friend Dee.

Over the weekend, NaturalNouNou and I, went to the Ice Cream Social Meetup hosted by OyinHandmade and we had an AMAZING time!

Before & After Pictures of Henna Hair Lightening

Many naturals want to change the color of their hair, especially in the Summer months, but they don't want to sacrifice the natural lifestyle. Luckily, there are several all-natural alternatives to chemically based products!

Henna is one option. Henna is a plant that has natural dying properties, and is often used to dye skin, hair, and some fabrics. I have personally tried several Henna brands and I love how they changed my hair color and also conditioned my hair, leaving is soft and increased my curl pattern. If you are interested in trying Henna in your hair, I made a tutorial [HERE] of exactly what to do and also one of my recipes [HERE] to give you a richer color. For more information about Henna, I referenced the Henna for Hair website [HERE].

Another option is lemon juice. Yes, all natural lemon juice in your hair and a few hours under the Sun will naturally lighten your hair shade. I tried this last Summer and I loved the results. I am really excited to see how it will work in my Sisterlocks this Summer.

I was going through my camera and I found an old picture that I never got a chance to post of my hair after a henna treatment. I love the Auburn tint that the henna always added to my hair, simply lovely! Also, great  the conditioning affects of henna was what always kept me coming back! :)

Carlos Santana recently got married to Cindy Blackman (Lenny Kravitz's Drummer) and she has the most beautiful wedding pictures...and of course she is a natural! :)

When I get married, if I no longer have my Sisterlocks, I would definitely rock my 'fro like this..absolutely stunning!
